Mediating Diversity Through Authenticity
Acacia DëQueer (fae/they) is a queer trans disabled white nonbinary intimacy professional, director, production accessibility coordinator, LGBTQ consultant, author, educator, and artist. Acacia has intimacy coordinated award winning films that have appeared in over 50 festivals globally including the Out on Film Festival, BFI Flare: London LGBTQIA+ Film Festival, Sarasota Film Festival, Inside Out Toronto, the National Film Festival for Talented Youth, Chelsea Film Festival, CineYouth, and NewFest. Fae have lectured on intimacy for screen and stage at universities and colleges, published in the Journal of Consent-Based Performance, and served as a Committee Member for the National Society of Intimacy Professionals where fae helped to prioritize diversity and accessibility within the intimacy professionals industry.
Acacia’s work is supported by their background in human rights, gender and sexuality studies, disability advocacy, and decolonial studies as well as faer extensive training and work in the areas of consent, bystander intervention, and movement coaching.
